Special Treasures operates under the umbrella of Children's Homes of Iredell County. We are not just a store, but a workforce development program for youth. 100% of our proceeds go back into the program. We accept all gently used items as tax-deductible donations and sell them at reasonable prices. We are proud to offer quality items, name brands, and a lovely ambiance.
Youth in our program learn a wide array of competencies to prepare them for higher education and/or the workforce. These include marketing, budgeting, fundraising, supervising, software operating (Office & Quickbooks), shipping & receiving, and design. Additionally, they learn soft skills such as relationship building with the public and colleagues, self-esteem, communication, independence, grammar & vocabulary, and general professionalism.
We are always seeking merchandise and monetary donations, volunteers, and customers. Executive Director Teresa Adams or Program Manager Lalanea Barnes are always eager to speak to your group or organization about Children's Homes of Iredell or Special Treasures.
We restore, re-purpose, design and recreate used items. Taking only the finest quality furniture in a new direction.
