New Businesses Recognized and New Board Members Welcomed at DSDC Annual Meeting

DSDC recognizes new businesses for their investment and contribution into Downtown Statesville

Downtown Statesville Development Corporation (DSDC) held its Annual Meeting on June 16 at the Statesville Civic Center located at 300 S. Center Street in Downtown Statesville. The following officers were approved for 2021-2022: Wes Davidson of First Flight Bicycles as Chairman; Alex Prinster of AP Vintage Motors as Secretary and Carla Steele of Norris, Stewart & Ralston as Treasurer.  

Six new Board Members were elected to three-year terms. They included Jason Cole with Twisted Oak, Broad Street Burger Co., Unwined and Smokin’ Southern Cantina; Jim Duffey, American Renaissance School; Doug Hendrix, blueharbor bank; Jonathan Nobinger, Fourth Creek Brewing Co.; Donald Hicks, Statesville Housing Authority; and Jennifer Grant, Native Ceuticals.

2019-2021 Chairman Brittany Marlow Hill of Excel Real Estate Group presided over the meeting which highlighted and recognized achievements of the previous year. The meeting featured Jessica Rossi with Kimly-Horn who presented the the Downtown Statesville Apartment Market Analysis.

Nineteen new businesses were recognized for their investment and contribution to the economic vitality of Downtown Statesville. The new businesses from the past year are as follows:
