Two Arrested in Assault, Robbery, and Vehicle Theft on Alexander Street


Statesville, NC – The Statesville Police Department is investigating an incident that occurred on January 1, 2025, in the 1400 block of Alexander Street. During this incident, a local pastor was assaulted, robbed, and had his vehicle stolen while renovating his church. Three suspects, including the two arrested individuals, were working alongside the pastor during the renovation process when the incident occurred.

The investigation identified David Malachi Harris, 36, of Hickory, NC, as the individual who carried out the assault and theft of the pastor’s vehicle. Jaddin Allen Norris, 20, of Taylorsville, NC, acted as an accomplice by following in a separate vehicle and later assisting Harris after the stolen vehicle was abandoned.

Both individuals have been apprehended and charged. Harris is being held on an $89,500 bond, while Norris is being held on a $10,000 bond.
