Downtown Statesville Development Corporation Hires Main Street Community Engagement Manager

Downtown Statesville Development Corporation (DSDC) is pleased to announce the addition of Liz Petree as the new Main Street Community Engagement Manager. Liz has been a fundamental part of downtown for many years and is excited to bring her experience and dedication to the DSDC team.

As the Main Street Community Engagement Manager, Liz will bring an enthusiastic perspective to the organization. Her role will include, but not be limited to, event planning, management, marketing and executing the promotional events and activities for DSDC. She will work closely with downtown businesses, partners, sponsors, and committees to develop events and marketing projects. Liz has a considerable knowledge working in special event environments with a focus on creating positive experiences for attendees, volunteers and vendors.

"I am excited to add Liz to our team to see all that she can accomplish for downtown and our community,” said Marin Tomlin, Director of Downtown Statesville Development Corporation “Her experience, knowledge of our organization and our community is a huge asset that will help her hit the ground running in this role.”

Liz has a rich history with Downtown Statesville. She opened Wine Maestro at 121 W. Broad Street in 2012 and it became a fast favorite with the locals. She quickly became involved with DSDC, serving as Promotions Chairman and helped to pave the way for new events, such as Wine Walk and Hops and Harmony Craft Brew Festival. Liz served on the board of directors for DSDC for six years, acting as Chairman for two of those years. Her passion for downtown shows through her years of volunteering and she is ready to get back to doing the work she loves.

“My favorite part of being downtown is the relationships that I have built with people. I shop, eat and play downtown, because that’s where my friends are, and I am so excited that I get to work here too,” said Liz Petree. “My job is to help everyone see what I see – that we have the most beautiful and friendly community right here, and I am looking forward to making an impact in a positive way to create an even tighter network of friends and businesses!”
